With vivid, realistic illustrations, this book transports readers into a world where respect, patriotism, and understanding flow generously.

A sad yet beautiful journey unfolds when Miguel and Sam learn the symbolic meaning behind the flag's stars, stripes, and colors and hear about Miguel’s father’s inspirational journey from a Scout to a Marine. The story teaches readers about dignity, respect, and the depth of sacrifice symbolized by the flag.

Why did you write this book? Most people don’t know what to do with their worn-out flags. My goal is to teach them the proper way to retire a flag.
